IPHONE 5S IN 2017? SHOULD YOU BUY IT? A COMPLETE REVIEW

The flagship phone from apple in 2013, the Apple’s iphone 5s was very special. It was the first iphone to feature a fingerprint sensor and a 64bit architecture. It is one of the most popular phones of all time and marked the beginning of an apple era encouraging people to switch to apple. The phone was so popular among consumers that apple produced a sequel of iphone 5s namely iphone 5SE which came with the specs of an iphone 6s and the body of an iphone 5s. So, the question is, is it still worth it in 2017?
The apple iphone 5s was announced and released in September 2013. The phone had a very similar design as to that of its predecessor the iphone 5. It was available in three colors namely gold, silver and space grey and was available in 16gb, 32gb and 64gb variants. The phone weighs around 112grams and is light weight and is about 7.3mm thick. The phone has an aluminum unibody design which is pretty sturdy and feels very solid. It has an LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, producing 16M colors. The phone has a 4.0 inches(~60.8% screen-to-body ratio) display with a resolution of 640 x 1136 pixels (~326 ppi pixel density).
The phone is powered by an Apple A7 chipset and has Dual-core 1.3 GHz Cyclone (ARM v8-based) processor along with a PowerVR GPU G6430 (quad-core graphics) and 1gb of ram. The phone has a primary camera of 8 MP with f/2.2 aperture, 29mm, autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash and has features like a 1/3" sensor size, 1.5 µm pixel size, touch focus, geo-tagging, face/smile detection, HDR (photo/panorama) and could record video at 1080p@30fps and 720p@120fps. The secondary camera is 1.2 MP with an aperture of f/2.4, 31mm, and could record video at 720p@30fps, and features face detection, HDR, FaceTime over Wi-Fi or Cellular.
The phone has a Non-removable Li-Po 1560 mAh battery (5.92 Wh) which could last a full day with normal usage. The phone has standby time Up to 250 h (2G) / Up to 250 h (3G) and offers 40hours of music playback.

The phone’s performance is decent even in 2017 with the latest update ios 10.3.2 and could be used as a daily driver for people who would like to buy a branded phone for a cheaper price. It is available for as low as 14000rs on several websites (namely ebay and amazon) or you could get a second hand one for less than 10000rs. The phone could run most of the newest games and apps without any glitch even though it is a 4year old phone, thanks to apple’s architecture and regular updates. The phone runs flawlessly and could run anything that you throw at it. Even though you could not get the performance of the latest iphone (iphone 7 and 7plus) but 5s still performs decently and is one of the most sought-after phones in the world.
There are rumors that the iphone 5s is getting the latest ios 11 update too meaning apple is still supporting the device. it is the second device to get a long support after the iphone 4s which got apple support and updates for 5 years.

So, if you are an apple fan who does not want to spend 50000 on a flagship device or an android user who likes to try out an iphone, I recommend getting the iphone 5s as you would not be disappointed with your choice.
