Iphone X, Dope or nope

The new iphone X gave a big hype even before its release by apple announcing it as their biggest flagship ever and costing over a 1000 dollars. Apple's all new iphone X is the most expensive iphone apple has ever brought into production at this time when iphone is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

The iphone X finally has a bezel less display competing with the Lg , Samsung and Google pixel . Apple has made sure that it its anniversary edition iphone is the best one it has ever made. The iphone X has 5.8 inch display but its bezel less nature cuts off the extra area and makes it smaller than the 8 plus but with more screen and less area.

But in order to provide a bezel less display apple had to do some compromises to its architecture like removing the Touch Id completely and replacing it with Face Id. Even though Face Id is easier to use than Touch Id, it cannot be used for secure payments like Touch Id was used making it harder for payments.

Apple could have installed the Touch Id and Face Id if they had planned to do it somehow behind their apple logo or like Sony by placing the Touch Id on the power button but they didn’t do it. Maybe we will see a come back for Touch Id back in the next generation iphones.

Everything is new with the iphone X.  They have changed their entire OS interface with the iphone X. By removing the home button from the iphone X everything is now controlled with gestures. Everything from closing an app to multitasking or switching between apps is with gestures. Its good in one way but it takes time for people to get used to gestures and some may not even like it.

The iphone X comes in a bigger resolution than before with a whopping 458ppi making the display sharper, brighter and vibrant. Apple has used AMOLED display for the first time in their iphones and the result is awesome. The screen of the iphone X looks promising and with a higher color tone. The phone is built on a glass and steel frame with a unibody design like its predecessor but with a sleek new look.

Apple has used the same A11 Bionic chipset that apple used with the iphone 8 and with 3gb of ram, the iphone X has the same hardware inside as the iphone 8 plus. Apple has used their Hexacore 2.39 ghz (2X monsoon + 4x mistral) CPU and the apple GPU making it very fast and capable of running the latest games and apps or anything that you throw at it smoothly.

The iphone X has a 2800mAh battery and gives a talk time of 21 hours and a music play of about 60hours and it comes with stereo speakers like the iphone 8. Apple has finally introduced the wireless qi charging capability to the iphones which was one of the most awaited feature requested by apple fans for several years.

The iphone X sports the dual camera setup used by the 8 plus and has the same sensors. The front facing camera is the same 7MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture, 32mm lens, 1080p@30fps, 720p@240fps, face detection, HDR which was used in 8 plus. It sports Dual 12 MP cameras, with 28mm, f/1.8 & 52mm, f/2.4 lenses, OIS, phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, quad-LED (dual tone) flash.

Another interesting feature of the iphone X is the introduction of animojis. It is a pretty interesting feature allowing you to create animated emojis with your voice and mirror your facial expressions. Infact apple has only made some designing tweaks to the original iphone 8 plus. The hardware used is same in both the iphone 8 plus and iphone X.

The iphone X is available in two variants the space grey and the silver versions and is available in 64gb variant and a 256 gb variant.

The 64gb variant costs you about $1000 and the 256gb version costs around $1200.

The Iphone X is stylish, fast and intelligent but is it worth the price you are paying?

It depends on you, if you are a hardcore apple fan and is waiting to try the new iphone X go get it, but if you are an iphone user and has an iphone 7 or iphone 8 its better to wait for its second generation and buy it next year. And if you are for the style then too you could get the iphone X for showing off. But if you are for the apple interface and specs you could still get an iphone 8 or iphone 7 and they have gone cheap too. Or you could try some other alternatives like the google pixel 2 XL which is stylish, sleek and affordable and costs around $700 for the unlocked version.
